Health Benefit FAQ's

In-Home providers qualify for health benefits under certain conditions.  The health insurance is not administered by HCQA or any other state agency.  Health benefits will be administered through a Taft-Hartley Trust.

Who’s Eligible for the Trust Plan?

All In-Home providers who are not already covered by the Basic Health Plan or other health insurance are eligible.  Providers MUST work at least 86.6 hours for three consecutive months before they are eligible to apply for this health insurance coverage. To check your eligibility, call the Trust Benefits Office toll-free: 1-866-771-7359.

How Much Does it Cost?

In-Home providers will pay $17 a month which will be automatically deducted form your state paycheck.

What if I have other health insurance or Medicare?

You can switch to the Trust Plan if you already have health insurance through your spouse or another employer.

If you currently have other insurance, you must cancel that insurance when your new coverage starts.

If you are 65 or over, you can obtain primary insurance through the Trust Plan. Medicare may then pay for your medical expenses not covered by the Plan.

Does the Trust Plan cover pre-existing medical conditions?

The Trust Plan covers pre-existing medical conditions after a three-month waiting period. The SEIU Healthcare 775 NW Multi Employer Benefits Trust provides affordable medical, dental and vision insurance, and prescription drug benefits to individual provider home care workers.

The waiting period may be less if you have been insured before.
